Katarina Wennstam, b. 1973, made her debut in 2002 with non-fiction title The Girl and the Guilt, a shocking reportage on how rape victims are treated by Swedish society and the legal system. A Real Rapist followed in 2004, in which she investigated the other side of this gruesome subject, the convicted rapist's. The Girl and the Guilt was nominated for the August Prize for Best Non Fiction and was rewarded the Vilhelm Moberg stipend, as well as the Bar Association’s Journalist Prize, and is now considered a standard reference In Sweden.
Her first crime novel, Dirt, was published in 2007 and was an immediate success. Katarina has since written seven crime novels, all distinguished by her masterful storytelling and compelling voice that quickly draws you into the heart of the issue at hand. Known for her strong female characters and an unwillingness to shy away from difficult subjects, Katarina is one of Sweden’s most successful crime writers.
Her latest novel The Twilight Girl was published in August 2015 by Albert Bonniers Förlag.
