Gunnel Linde
Gunnel Linde was born in Stockholm in 1924. She was the only child and her father died when she was a baby, so she and her mother lived in a small flat rather like the Chimneytop Lane/Tacka vet jag skorstensgränd (one of her books). Gunnel Linde attended art school but eventually droped out and became a journalist, a career she later abandoned. Gunnel Linde is a Swedish prize winner with several books to her credit.
