Death and all his Friends

Kristoffer Leandoer, illustrated by Emma Ekstam

“Now, “said Dad “you know how things stand, who we are and what happens when we cross the river.”

Little Deathy grows up in the fortress of Breeze. His only friends are a shrilled-voiced crow called Tom Blunt and Jessica, the most poisonous spider of all. His father Death is frequently coming and going.  At last the day comes when it is time for Little Deathy to accompany his father across the river to the land of the living to find out who he and his father are and what they must do…

Death and all his Friends is an exciting and beautiful book about adolescence, loss and grief but at the same time, in the end, everything is usually turning out to be alright.

Kristoffer Leandoer has written several novels both for children and adults. Death is an important subject in his books, as is the relationship between child and parent.
