Double Fault

After the catastrophe – in the midst of puberty.
That’s right where 12 year-old John is. Six months after the death of his mother in a car accident, John starts at a new school in Year 7. From having loads of friends in his old school, he ends up as an outsider in the new one. On top of that, he’s physically smaller than all the rest, he finds it difficult to keep up with his schoolwork, and his love for Clara just leads to yet another collapse.

But time passes and life finds fresh paths for John. Among other things, he finds a new tennis partner, a good-looking boy from Croatia with a fiery temperament and a fantastic forehand. He and John make an unlikely doubles partnership, but one that is very hard to beat…
Double Fault is a free-standing continuation of Peter Barlach’s critically acclaimed novel Not Just Tennis, which was published in the spring of 2007.
