In the Hall of the Mountain King

Martin Widmark, illustrated by Christina Alvner

Nelly Rapp has trained at the Monster Academy which has taught her that monsters and other dangerous things can be managed with the help of calm, wisdom and cunning. But will it help her this time too? Nelly and her dog, London, visit the Troll Forest. They come across an engineer who claims that the entire forest will be cut down so that they can build there, as long as the ground conditions are stable enough.

Then London vanishes without a trace down under a thick fir tree and Nelly must crawl in after him. There she comes eye-to-eye against no other than the Mountain King – an extremely old man with power over the entire Troll Forest but without a single idea as to how to save it. Luckily, Nelly can figure out that the Giant must be woken. Because when he starts to move around after 900 years, then he will literally rock the feet of the engineer up above…

The ninth, free-standing book about Nelly.
