Oinkie and Mustang

Erik Magntorn, illustrated by Therese Vildefall

In a small inlet, surrounded by palms, amongst the coral and beautifully coloured fish, lives a group of very proud seahorses. This is also the home of one particular little seahorse, who looks slightly different from the others. Some make fun of him and mockingly call him ‘Oinkie’ because  he has a soft pig-like snout instead of a sleek narrow nose like the other seahorses and because of how he sounds.

One day Oinkie and his worst tormentor of all, Mustang, are washed ashore when a big wave sweeps over the reef. The two little seahorses barely stand a chance of surviving the hot rays of the sun and wild animals on the beach. Could Oinkie’s unusual appearance actually be what saves them on land?

Erik Magntorn and Therese Vildefall’s fantasy-filled underwater tale takes the reader on an adventure through rolling waves, salt-drenched beaches and dancing seahorses.
