The Hidden Code

Johan Wendt, Tor Moström , illustrated by Peter Bergting

A graphic novel introducing the reader to computational thinking and programming.

Curly Bracket is an illustrated adventure story that takes place in a futuristic world. It is also a book full of facts. Principles and methods within computational thinking are introduced.

The main character Curly Bracket and the mysterious Pascal try to survive in a world that is controlled by the company Corpuratus. The closer to the truth about Corpuratus they get, the more the reader learns about computational thinking and the basics of programming.

Computational thinking is a tool for learning how to think in computer science terms and for obtaining an understanding for programming principles. It is a way of building a bridge between physical and digital reality. It is about formulating and breaking down problems and learning the first structure behind the technique that we use on a daily basis. It is also about starting to produce instead of just passively consuming digital media!
