The Secret of the Abominable Snowman

Martin Widmark, illustrated by Christina Alvner

Nelly Rapp has taught herself to deal with monsters and other dangers by being calm, wise and cunning. But will that be enough in a closely-fought battle with one of the last abominable snowmen on earth?

Monster sleuth Nelly is on winter half-term in the mountains when she hears reports about gigantic footprints in the snow on the border between Finland and Sweden. Does this mean that the few remaining abominable snowmen on earth are on the move, looking for colder places to live? Abominable snowmen or Yetis, as some people call them, are not to be messed with. And the recent milder winters have almost driven them mad with constant lack of sleep. It is Nelly’s task to report anything suspicious immediately. Doesn’t that bad-tempered man with red-rimmed eyes who hires out skis seem exceptionally moody and tired? And why does he suddenly rush out of the store and throw snow all over himself? Nelly realises she must ski after him if she is to find answers to her questions …

There are already eight books in the series about Nelly Rapp, and there are more adventures to come.
