Rose Lagercrantz awarded The Swedish Academy’s Award for Outstanding Authors of Children’s and Youth Literature 2023

Rose Lagercrantz is 2023 year’s recipient of The Swedish Academy’s Award for Outstanding Authors of Children’s and Youth Literature with a price sum of 150 000 SEK.

Rose Lagercrantz is most known for her beloved series about Dunne, illustrated by Eva Eriksson, which has been translated into 25 languages. She has also written Two of Everything (2020), illustrated by her daughter Rebecka Lagercrantz, and the books was awarded the prestigious Kinderbuchpreis des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany. In 2021 her book This is my life (2019), illustrated by Annelie Furmark, was selected for the category Selection of Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities by the international organisation IBBY, International Board on Books for Young People

The Swedish Academy’s Award for Outstanding Authors of Children’s and Youth Literature was established in 2021 and previous recipients are Frida Nilsson (2021) and Irmelin Sandman Lilius (2022).
