Lantern in the Dark

Katarina Genar, illustrated by Signe Gabriel

Dante and Paloma are sitting in Borg’s bakery in Misty Alley, which has the most delicious buns and cakes. It turns out that Selma, the baker, has a secret recipe book. No wonder everything is so tasty! Suddenly, the fog outside thickens, but just as Dante is about to help light the old lantern by the door, Selma shouts from the kitchen. The recipes in the secret recipe book are disappearing! How is that possible? At that moment, the church bells start ringing and Dante and Paloma are pulled into the recipe book. Everything spins faster and faster. When they land, it is cold and dark around them. They are holding the lantern and a freshly baked bun in their hands…

Lantern in the Dark is the second stand-alone book in Katarina Genar’s Misty Alley series about friends Dante and Paloma who travel through time. The books are easy to read, exciting chapter books about time travel and magical things with atmospheric and intriguing illustrations by Signe Gabriel.
