In Children of the Sea, we meet Psychologist Anne Lebæk, who never looked back since leaving her childhood town of Hvertsund in West Jutland and moved to Copenhagen. But as her sister is dying, Anne returns home, divorced and disillusioned. Shortly afterwards, the body of a woman who was in therapy with Anne washes up on the beach. Anne’s search for answers forces her to make her way through the small town’s residents and remember a time she has done everything to forget.

In Maelstrom, the second book in the series, Anne finds the body of a young woman in her friend’s home in the old fishing quarters. Anne knows the woman from her practice and becomes obsessed with finding out who wanted her dead. Anne’s investigation brings her close to the dark side of the harsh, windswept community, where the murderer is never far away.

The third book, Storm Surge, is a psychological crime novel about loneliness, fanaticism and climate change. The secrets of the past lie buried in the sand by the sea. As the truth emerges, it might become a reason to commit murder.

In book four, Rising Tide, a local councilwoman is found murdered in her home. Anne Lebæk assists the police in the murder investigation, which puts her relationship with police officer Torkild under pressure, as her childhood sweetheart Rasmus threatens to pull her away from the life she is building. When the killer strikes again, it becomes clear that someone will do anything to ensure that the truth
remains hidden.
