Steven read English Literature at the University of Hull before completing an MA in Literature and Writing for Publication at the University of Leeds. His first job in publishing was at a specialist audiobook publisher in 2012, where he worked before joining an independent non-fiction publisher in 2014.

Moving to Sweden to join a literary agency in 2016, Steven has worked with internationally renowned authors and bestsellers in fiction and non-fiction, before joining Bonnier Rights in 2025.

With a broad taste spanning both fiction and non-fiction, Steven is passionate about elevating stories that can present a new point of view. Whether that’s brilliantly written, thought-provoking non-fiction or an expansive and adventurous novel with a lot of heart. Steven is always on the hunt for the best voices in crime fiction, a standalone or series with unforgettable characters and a cleverly constructed plot that keeps him guessing.
