Gun-Britt Sundström (b. 1945) works as an author, critic and translator. Her debut came in 1966, and she’s so far published 16 books, whereof six are children’s books. Engagement was published in 1976, and has become a modern classic. Since the 1990’s, Gun-Britt Sundström has established herself as one of Sweden’s foremost translators of children’s books and fiction. She received the Helga Prize in 2019 for her ‘linguistic sensitivity, self-distance, black humour and acuity.’
Åsa Leijon (b. 1968) lives in Uppsala where she works as a high school teacher. DROWNING IN SILENCE is her debut novel.
Peter Hanneberg is a journalist, photographer and biologist who has visited around 70 countries. For the last twenty years he has worked as a nature and travel writer as well as environmental debater for several magazines, and he has also been the editor in chief of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. Peter Hanneberg is an Overseas Member of the Seychelles Island Foundation, which administers the two world heritage sites Aldabra and Vellée de Mai. He is on the board of industry organization the Environmental Journalists, a founder of the Swedish Ecotourism Association, and a member of the Travellers Club. He has written several books on topics including the Seychelles, the Swedish national parks, and eco-tourism. Peter is the first writer to have won the WWF’s Panda award three times. He has also received the 2001 Environmental Award of the Swedish Association of Graduate Engineers.
MARTIN HEDBERG is a meteorologist and writer specialising in extreme weather and changes to weather systems. He regularly gives talks to governments and other authorities on extreme weather and the climate challenges of the future.
Carl-Johan Vallgren (b. 1964) grew up in Falkenberg but now lives in Stockholm, where he works as a full-time writer. He made his debut in 1987 and achieved international recognition in 2002 with The Horrific Sufferings of the Mind-Reading Monster Hercules Barefoot, which earned him the August Prize. His most recent novel, Your Time Will Come, was awarded the Swedish Crime Writers’ Academy’s prize for Best Swedish Crime Novel of 2024.
