Absinthe

One early summer day, he is simply there—the blue tit chick that will come to be called Absinthe. Perhaps he has fallen from an overcrowded nest high in the tree’s crown, perhaps he has tried his wings too early. It is a small bundle of fluff with a gaping beak and an insistent call that takes over the Rådström family home. At first, life revolves mainly around satisfying an unending hunger, but soon Absinthe begins to embark on ever longer journeys of discovery. Out in the garden, other birds beckon, and the world expands with each passing day.
