Ester’s Longing

Every child needs a pet – and that’s something that the sales assistant in the magical pet shop knows. Ester sits and looks out of the window of the basement room her family now lives in. She can see the street outside and it’s new and unfamiliar. How will she ever pluck up the courage to go out without getting lost?
Every day, Leo and his dog ”Pal” scamper past on the pavement. One day Ester calls the dog and he jumps through her open window, wagging his tail in delight. ”You can also buy a pet”, Leo tells Ester when she finally dares to go out with him and his mischievous little dog. Leo describes the way to the magical pet shop, but will the old lady behind the counter manage to find the perfect pet for the girl that doesn’t dare to go out?
