Frozen Tracks
Åke EdwardsonThree local police districts in Gothenburg receive reports that young children have been approached by an unknown person. No crimes appear to have been committed, so the reports are shelved until a four-year-old boy is abducted from a playground and found injured. Erik Winter, who is simultaneously investigating a series of violent crimes, suspects that there is a connection between the reports. He embarks on the complicated task of trying to obtain credible information from young children and desperate parents. The days leading up to Christmas are anything but joyful for Erik Winter. He knows that time is running out if he is to prevent a terrible catastrophe.
‘As usual, the characterisations and settings are exceptionally well written… Just like Henning Mankell, Åke Edwardson manages to create an almost real world, a Winter-land, into which the reader is invited.’ Nerikes Allehanda
‘Anyone interested in the possibilities of language should read Edwardson.’ Dagens Nyheter
