Help! Fire and Flames!

Help! Fire and Flames!
Jo Salmson, illustrated by Jimmy WallinWhen a little dog cuts its paw on broken glass the children decide to clean up the park. It would not be good if other dogs or animals hurt themselves. The friends will all help, both with the tidying and with the picnic. But everything takes a turn for the worst when the grass starts to burn. How could it go so wrong and whose fault is it? After the firemen have put out the fire there is another surprise for the children. Now there is even more fire and flames!
Jo Salmson succeeds in conveying strong feelings and Jimmy Wallin’s detailed illustrations are full of small subtleties. Friends and school are very important in these stories and the events often lead to dilemmas which have to be thought through and solved. The easy-to-read series deals with feelings such as jealousy, insecurity and uncertainty, which everyone will recognize.
