Herring Starts School

Anna Ehring, illustrated by Moa Graaf

The second book in the new Herring series for 6–9-year-olds!

In the ‘Herring’ series we meet the little boy Hugo Ström, nicknamed Herring, who is not too wild about change – and we meet him in a time of his life where everything is about to turn upside down, but is it for better or worse?

It’s register call in Class One. Grandpa and the parents are crowded by the wall at the back of the classroom. The teacher calls out names one by one. But not Herring’s. Or wait – Hugo? Do we have a Hugo here? Yes, but who she really means is Herring!

He is named Hugo but nobody calls him that. When the class titter, Herring feels it’s time to go home. But Grandpa persuades Herring to stay and by the afternoon, he doesn’t want to go home. He has met Hedda.

This is the second book in Anna Ehring’s series about feelings, thoughts – big and small – and making friends. It features sixyear-old Herring and wonderfully timeless and witty illustrations by Moa Graaf.
