Hidden Letters and Silver Secrets

An autumn school holiday turns into an exciting adventure when Erik and Alva find long-hidden, long-forgotten letters in an old summer house and are soon hot on the trail of a secret. It is the grey month of November and the prospect of a dull autumn break looms ahead. Mum has to work so it’s fortunate that Erik has Alva. A ring on the cell phone and she’s on her way over. But this Saturday will not be like any other, it will be the start of a real adventure. It all begins when Erik and Alva accompany his mother on her job as a reporter to an old castle outside town. The Silvervinge family no longer lives there and it is cold and dark and white sheets cover the furniture that is still standing there.

In the garden, almost hidden by bare rain-drenched trees, stands a ramshackle summer house. Something draws Erik towards it, almost like a faint tune … And there under a rotting floorboard he finds them: the letters. Erik’s curiosity about what is in the letters is aroused so he return s to the castle alone…
