Knits from Coast and Shore

Erika Åberg

Starting with wool and nature, Erika Åberg takes us to four coastal areas: Gotska Sandön, Stora Karlsö, Wales and the Faroe Islands to explore their knitting traditions and nature. In Knits from Coast and Shore, Erika shares her view on the colours and landscapes and how to take inspiration from these in your knitting.

Through 20 projects, you find introductions to techniques, materials, diagrams, and beautiful illustrations alongside images by photographer Linnea Ronström. The projects vary from warm sweaters and vests to durable socks, mittens, and collars all inspired by the landscapes. There are garments inspired by the Milky Way, from the patterns and colours of the Lichen and the Common Murres eggs. The projects are both for beginners and more experienced knitters and vary in techniques.

Knits from Coast and Shore is a stand-alone sequel to Knits from Coast to Coast that takes inspiration from four new coastal areas and Erika’s 10th book on knitting!
