Knitting Mittens

This book is full of warm and cosy mittens, socks and hats that are fun to knit and nice to wear. Garments that are classic yet modern and practical yet playful. Knitwear made using natural shades of wool, wonderful accent colours or hand-dyed yarn. Choose from delights such as patterned Gotland wool mittens, stripy half mittens, long-cuffed mittens with snowflakes, a stripy infinity scarf with matching mittens, soft thick socks with a zigzag pattern and an assortment of lovely hats Most of the projects are easy but there are some that take more time.

All the garments are made using natural materials and the book starts with care instructions and information about patterns and textiles and tips on how to go about multi-colour knitting.

Erika Åberg is based on the island of Gotland and specialises in different forms of handmade creations. She is a writer, adult education teacher, lecturer and qualified handicraft consultant who loves wool. Erika has a passion for knitting, sewing, embroidery and paper cutting and is the author of Paper Crafts and Knitting Scarves and Shawls. She also wrote Warm and Cosy Knits together with Eva Trotzig.
