Samson is a little black dog, one of those happy dogs that love greeting all the other dogs, even the big grumpy ones. Samson’s mum collapsed in the underground station and is carried away by the paramedics. In their rush they hadn’t noticed the dog. He runs and runs all the way to the park where he usually walks with his mum. It is a familiar place but he’s so tired that he crawls in under a bush and falls asleep. He’s alone.
