Minoo and the Winter Ship

Minoo and the Winter Ship
Anna EhringOne day a letter from the Migration Agency comes through the door. A white envelope that Minoo and her family have been waiting for, for as long as she can remember. Their future lies in that envelope. Someone has decided whether they can stay in Sweden or not. This is a book about finding what you want and where you want to be. When Minoo comes home from school one afternoon in December she looks through the letterbox. She always looks first and then unlocks the door. When she sees the letter from the Migration Agency she takes her little brother by the hand and runs down to the harbour that Mirza loves because he thinks that he saw Father Christmas there once. Mirza rushes on board a merchant ship with Minoo at his heels just as the ship leaves the port. The lives of the siblings take a major turn as they embark on an involuntary adventure that is filled with lies, seasickness, ghostlike children and amazing sunsets. Anna Ehring has a flair for depicting the thoughts, feelings and everyday relationships of children.
