My Heart Skips and Laughs

Rose Lagercrantz and Eva Eriksson are some of our most beloved children’s book veterans and their consistently lively work together goes back a long way. Here they tell the story, in words and pictures, of Dunne who is trying to take life as it comes and refuses to stop believing in miracles! Her best friend Ella Frida has moved away and Dunne won’t let anyone sit in her empty place, because where will her best friend sit when she comes back? While she waits Dunne uses her special technique: she thinks about all the fun things she has experienced. But teacher would rather Dunne got involved with the other children and pushes her in between Vickan and Mickan – with devastating results.

It’s a good thing Dunne has such understanding guinea pigs. But above all such an understanding friend as Ella Frida, who doesn’t let either time or distance stand in her way. And before the day is out Dunne’s heart finally gets to jump for joy many times over!
