Rustic Garden Projects

Find out how to make beautiful things in your garden with basic materials such as wood, willow, glass, concrete and iron. Marianne Svärd Häggvik is an engineer and an avid garden worker. For many years she has documented her various projects, from making small decorative things in glass or willow to put in your garden, to major construction work building things in stone, iron or concrete.

Each material has its own chapter in the book, for example making things with willow or in concrete (8 materials in all). All chapters start with an overview, where you learn about the material, how to handle it, what tools or machinery to use, and a lot of smart tips as you go along. Each and every project (about 60 in the book) is carefully documented and described, both by introductions and in steps by easy-to-follow pictures and captions.

Marianne Svärd Häggvik is an engineer based in Stockholm. She had been pottering around in her garden for ages before she and her husband decided to compile their beautiful and fun projects to do in an ordinary house garden.
