Starting School

It’s the day before Isak starts school. He’s at home in bed and has butterflies in his tummy. Starting school feels exciting, fun and scary all at the same time. Just imagine learning to read and count, and being with children that you’ve never met before. What Isak doesn’t know is that the others in his class are just as nervous: Leila, Juli and Gunnar are also wondering what it will be like. Lucky them that their teacher is really kind and that school actually looks fun.

Helena Bross is fantastic at making everyday things fun and exciting. She is a school teacher and her stories are based on her own experience. Emma Göthner’s lively and accurate illustrations are easy to identify with and help make reading fun.
