All the while, the rest of the members try to keep the peace, but what they don’t know, is that Stina has decided that she doesn’t want to live for that much longer. Not after losing her husband Mauritz barely a year ago. Therefore, she desperately needs to win this last battle against Bengt, to keep Mauritz’s dream intact and bring the collective back to its former glory.
After a separation, Julian Almer and his six-year-old son Felix end up in the collective in Sandshov. Julian soon realizes that he is not the only one who is dealing with heartache in the collective. His next-door neighbor Alice Flood has recently gone through a breakup. But she is also trying to understand who sent her the cryptic note that led her to the collective in the first place…
Summer Days is the first book in the trilogy, ‘The Collective of Broken Hearts’. In this feelgood series, Callum Bloodworth writes a fun and fresh story about collective living. It’s a story filled with witty and sharp dialogue, reminiscent of Mhairi McFarlane, and the novel is filled to the brim with heartwarming characters, cinnamon buns, and a collective with great stories that lay hidden within its worn walls.
Reviews:
‘The characters and the settings vividly bring the story to life. The protagonist is a fierce and stubborn woman with strong opinions, who you can’t help but fall in love with. You will fly through the pages of this delightful and witty story about people who unapologetically stand up for their dreams.’
