The Beast Awakes

Ola Lindholm, illustrated by Jonas Åkerlund

Andy has lost his parents in a car accident. His foster parents are horrible and in the end Andy runs away. For a long while he manages on his own. Eating whatever he can find, sleeping high up in the treetops.

But one morning Andy is woken by a cheeky red-haired girl and a hefty man. It is Isabell and Papi Angel. The story they tell Andy is a strange magical one. The Angel family are actually dream-animal catchers. They have for generations taken care of children’s dream-animals. But there is a wicked dream-animal on the loose and it seems that it is Andy who has dreamed it into existence. What Andy does not yet know is that it is he who has been chosen to wield the magic sword and lead the fight against the beast that threatens the world!

OLA LINDHOLM has worked as a TV presenter for Swedish Television and between 2009 and 2011 he was Chairman of the board for Children’s Rights in Society. Ola Lindholm likes to coach children in football and how to fish for mackerel when he has the time and opportunity.

JONAS ÅKERLUND has illustrated book covers such as The Dreamcatcher: The beast awakes. When he is not illustrating children’s and young people’s books he is active as a Concept Artist at ISBIT Games. He is educated in painting.
