The Book Hunt

Josefine Sundström, illustrated by Emma Göthner

Saga has a favourite picture book about a little teddy bear that she loves to listen to – especially when Mum reads it using her funny “bear voice”! But Mum has grown tired of the book and thinks it’s time to try slightly longer stories that don’t end straight away. Together, they set off in search of something new. It’s not that easy. They visit the library and a bookshop, looking for the perfect bear book – one that feels just as comforting as the old favourite. But sometimes you have to rethink things… that’s what Saga’s mum keeps saying. Saga, however, doesn’t want to rethink. She wants the familiar – the same funny moments and the comfort of knowing exactly what will happen.

The Book Hunt is a cosy and emotionally engaging story about the love of books, imagination, and the joy of reading. In situations both big and small, children can recognize themselves in Saga’s world and get to understand their emotions just a little bit better.

Josefine Sundström’s quirky yet wise stories are brought to life by Emma Göthner’s colourful illustrations, which perfectly complement the text and help beginner readers follow along. Saga Stories has been adapted as a tv series, been an incredibly popular radio adaption, and has sold over 1,6 million copies across the series in Sweden alone, making it one of Sweden’s most famous and popular children’s book series.
