The Collected Adventures and Destinies of Metteborg

The Collected Adventures and Destinies of Metteborg
Rose Lagercrantz, Samuel Lagercrantz , illustrated by Eva ErikssonFun and easy to read, this new series is all about Dunne’s school friend Metteborg and life in junior school, written by children’s book veterans Rose Lagercrantz and Eva Eriksson. With brilliant teamwork between text and pictures they capture Metteborg, Dunne and the other children, their daily life, friendships and conflicts. The readers will recognize the situations that are told with laconic humor.
Metteborg thinks his life is quite nice. Fun things often happen to him but sometimes dangerous things also occur. Like when Benny throws a lump of ice at his head – then Metteborg doesn’t want to go to school any more. But as they get older Metteborg finds a new friend, Kudden. Kudden is always there to protect him against Benny. He and Metteborg get several stars in their classmate Dunne’s secret report book and think life is pretty nice, again.
Rose Lagercrantz youngest son, Samuel Lagercrantz, could be called the “real Metteborg”. Having listened to The Exploits of Moominpappa, he decided it was time that he wrote his own memoirs. “My life is quite nice”, he started to dictate and Rose started writing.
The trilogy about Metteborg was published for the first time in the 90’s and it is actually in these books that Dunne appears for the first time. In the new publications the original illustrations have been sensitively colored.
