The Dream Pony

The Dream PonyTess 2
Pia HagmarWhat has been only a dream for such a long time can finally become reality when Tess has the opportunity to buy a horse of her own at last!
With the money she got for looking after Malte and a small contribution from Staffan (who lives on the neighbouring farm where Malte was), the dream can be realised. After a great deal of searching, Tess (and Staffan) find Sally, a former riding school horse. It’s love at first sight. Sally is silver-grey, and as beautiful as a fairytale horse! But she’s also slightly nervous and shies at the slightest noise or movement. Why is she so easily frightened?
Majsan points out that Tess forgot to have Sally checked over by a vet before she bought her. Majsan has an opinion on just about everything, and it gets on Tess’s nerves. Because in spite of the fact that she likes Majsan, and knows that she really needs a friend, Tess thinks it’s quite hard to be friends with Majsan. Particularly in school. Tess feels invisible there, and the situation isn’t exactly improved by hanging out with Majsan, the bullies’ prime target… Mirjam and Amanda are the coolest girls in the class, and attracting their attention means that Tess “exists” for everyone else in school. It can be difficult to be a good friend in every situation, Tess realises. “I can’t say I’m afraid that the fact that she’s an outcast will rub off on me,” argues Tess.
Her loyalty is tested when Majsan tell her that Jonathan, the most popular boy in the school, has asked her out, and she is to give her answer at the disco the following day. What Tess knows, but Majsan doesn’t, is that the whole thing is a nasty joke, courtesy of Kajsa Janzon, the bully…
