The Dump Truck

Petrus Dahlin, illustrated by Johanna Kristiansson

When a nightmare becomes real!

Ruben is home sick, with only his grandfather for company. To pass the time, Grandpa tells a chilling story about how children long ago would disappear after being taken away in dump trucks. Of course, he’s only joking – but that night, Ruben dreams of terrifying garbage zombies. The next day at school, his classmates say he looks like a tired zombie, and that’s when he starts to tell his story… Soon, the whole school is scared – but Ruben keeps adding to his tale, making it more and more frightening. Or is he really making it up…?

The Dump Truck is a stand-alone title in Petrus Dahlin and Johanna Kristiansson’s easy-to-read and delightfully spooky series Read at Your Own Risk. Perfect for beginner readers who love a good scare.
