The Secret

Right in the middle of class, Eli tosses Vera a note. “Secret meeting! Behind the shed at recess!” it says. Vera loves secrets and hurries there. But what Eli shows her from his backpack makes her jaw drop. Candy! Left over from a party. And their class is absolutely not allowed to have candy at school – Miss Sara says so. What are they going to do? When Miss Sara suddenly appears, everything seems lost… or maybe grown-ups can have secrets too?

A warm and humorous story about friendship – and about how it’s not always such a big deal to make small mistakes. The Secret is the first book in A Monster in the Classroom, Elin Rebecca Hägg’s new series about school life with an unusual class-mate: Eli the monster! With warmth, humour, and vibrant illustrations, Elin captures the big emotions in life’s small moments.
