But one day when Grandfather was out, Elien the almander knocked on the door of their cottage, and suddenly Rian had the task of finding Almandrien, the lost city of the almanders.
When the almanders lived on Earth, they kept evil beings such as wheenzles and marwolves at bay with the help of magic. But in the end they were forced to use the Curse of the Shadow, a magic spell so powerful it made the almanders disappear as well. Now they live in the kingdom of the Shadows, and have almost lost hope of being able to return to Earth again.
But perhaps Rian can help them with the assistance of the magical silver amulet? In order to do so he must conquer the evil beings who have come to the world of the shadows along with the almanders, and who also want to escape. The most dangerous of these are the stealers, who steal the bodies of others and make them their own.
