Each short story delves into a scene from a woman’s life. After her two latest novels, Herrgården and Snöängel, Anna-Karin Palm returns to the short story format. But The Thrill of the Hunt can also be read as a fragmented novel, or as ten variations of the same theme. The stories explore the lives of a series of different characters, varying both in age and where they are in life, exploring a multifaceted notion of what it means to be a woman. They raise questions about female desire, the female body, as well as the difficulty women experience when resisting to define themselves through the eyes of men and the invisible societal structures that surround them.
