Toomi and the Little Plangnet
Toomi and the Little PlangnetEva Susso, illustrated by Katsiaryna Dubovik
A long time ago, you could swim in the lake by Toomi’s house. This was before the water became too poisonous to drink and the lawns were covered in rubbish. This was long ago, when you could still see the blue sky instead of the grey smog now hanging heavily over Toomi and the others who live at the ‘Dump’.
But one day, something falls out of the sky. A round shiny thing. It seems sick, almost dying… A plangnet, they call it, and Toomi decides to do everything he can to save it. Whatever it takes, and even if it means going to the city to remove the smog from the sky.
Eva Susso has written a thought provoking but still hopeful story about our responsibilities towards each other and our planet. With subtle and poetic pictures by illustrator Katsiaryna Dubovik, a world is created where anything is possible and dreams can grow.
