Your Brother My Sister

Your Brother My Sister
Annika ThorAnnika Thor writes with sensitivity about vulnerability and fellowship, identity and friendship.
Johan has lived at the orphanage for as long as he can remember. Now he’s eleven years old and has had enough of all the hard work and beatings. He decides to run away and seek a new life.
Disguised as a girl, Johan goes in to town and joins a travelling theatre company. Johan becomes Johanna, but who is he really? How did he end up in an orphanage and where does he really belong?
In his disguise as Johanna he starts to work as a dresser with a travelling theatre company where he meets Angelique, who is just possibly an angel, and mademoiselle Henriksson who can see the past and the future in her cards. Johan also meets Gustav who will become his first ever friend.
But someone is after him – will his disguise protect him? The town guards in their grey uniforms are searching for the runaway to take him back to the orphanage. But there is an even greater threat – someone who knows about his past is prepared to do anything to make sure his true identity is not revealed.
