A Dangerous Game

Johan Rundberg

August Prize winning author Johan Rundberg makes his adult fiction debut with simmering psychological suspense A Dangerous Game

Sanna and Martin are a couple like any other, living with their two teenage kids in a middle-class suburbia outside of Stockholm. Both are successful in their fields, Martin as a realtor with his own firm, and Sanna is just about to jump into a new exciting possibility at the municipality. Perhaps the only thing that makes them stand apart is their obvious happiness: they’ve learned how to hunt together as a couple’s retreat, their trust in each other is palpable, and they seem to be passed those difficult years when their daughter Mya wasn’t fitting in and stayed home from school.

But when a video of Mya begins circulating among her schoolmates, their lives quickly begins to spiral into chaos. The video, perceived as a potential threat to the school, quickly isolates the family as fear and judgment from their community take hold. Sanna and Martin struggle to connect with Mya and gain her trust. She seems completely absorbed by her life online and a new friend, a boy named Wilk. But is he to be trusted?

Whilst trying to regain control of their lives, new threats seem to be closing in on the family from all angles. As Sanna becomes increasingly paranoid at work, Martin finds traces left behind from someone lurking outside their house at night, someone keeping tabs on their every move…

As rumors and suspicions intensify, Sanna and Martin grapple with a harrowing question: What is happening with their daughter—and how well do they really know her?

‘Psychological suspense at its best. Well-written and nerve-wracking about how far you are prepared to go to protect your family. I love this book!’ Mattias Edvardsson, author of A Nearly Normal Family
