Lotta Olsson

Lotta Olsson was born in 1973 in Helsingborg, in the province of Scania (Skåne), where she also grew up. In 1994 she moved to Stockholm and the same year published her collection of poems entitled Skuggor and Speglningar (Shadows and Reflections), which was a major success.

In 1999 she made her debut as author of children’s books with Prata Persilja (Talking Nonsense), illustrated by artist Maria Jönsson. Since then Lotta has continued to write both poems and children’s books. She has been rewarded several prizes, and in 2011 Strange animals (Konstiga djur), illustrated by Maria Nilsson Thore, was nominated for the prestigious August Prize.
