Jonna Björnstjerna

Jonna Bjönstjerna was born in 1983. She trained at Serieskolan in Malmö and at Saint Martins in London, where she studied illustration and graphic design. Her illustrations are reminiscent of both Edward Gorey and John Bauer; there are elements of both fear and romance, as in a classic fairy tale. She has produced brilliant, amusing and personal stories and illustrations that everyone can identify with.

Her debut picture book The Tale Of The Wonderful Rabbit Family And The Monster In The Forest was awarded the Bokjuryn prize (picture books) in 2007. The Sweetie Monster, another picture book in the same series, was the picture book category winner again in 2010!

Jonna lives in London.
