Anna Ehring
A writer of Children’s and YA books, Anna Ehring has previously worked as an actor and a playwright. After studying drama in high school, she pursued further studies at a theatre school in Italy, the Swedish writing school Biskop’s Arnö, and furthermore has an academic degree in Environmental Engineering.
For her books about Nisse Berg in the ‘Dragon Heart’ series, Anna Ehring was awarded the 2012 Nils Holgersson plaquette, a prestigious prize granted by the Swedish Library Association, and her debut book Jam Sandwiches and Hard Life was nominated for the 2010 August Prize and was also adapted into a TV series in 2016.
‘Herring’ is her latest children’s book series for 6-9-year-olds. Following the little boy Hugo Ström, nicknamed ‘Herring’, through life’s turbulent changes, the series is about feelings, thoughts – big and small – and making friends.
Today Anna Ehring works mostly as an author and directs the children’s theatre touring group ‘Flyga Hund’. She lives in Stockholm together with her husband and children.
